About the teacher

Raneem comes from Syria. Her mother tongue is Arabic and she is completely fluent in English. She started studying English literature in Tishreen University in 2001 and her studies lasted for four years, then she was granted a BA degree in English Language Teaching and English literature. This four-year course included learning the methods of teaching languages in general and the English and Arabic languages in particular. In 2005, she started applying what she had learnt in university by teaching both languages to adult students as well as young children for about five years. In 2010, Raneem moved to the UK, where she worked in a primary school for one year and a half as a teaching assistant; her duties included helping the head teacher in preparing her classes for various activities and new learning methods. Raneem recently moved to Ireland and, on top of teaching Arabic classes in the evening, has also been working for Facebook as a data analyst and a coach for 18 months now.
